KIE Research

The KIE project is dedicated to advancing our understanding of students' learning in science and the role of technology in education. An earlier project, the Computer as Learning Partner (CLP) Project, provided over ten years of research as a foundation.

Educational research efforts currently underway include:

  • Design and Use of On-line Scaffolding and Guidance
  • Student Search Strategies on the Internet
  • Individual and Collaborative Sense-Making of Scientific Evidence
  • Socially-Relevant Representations for On-Line Discussion Tools
  • Encouraging Reflection for Science Learning
